Surf on an ecological wave: Designing the next gen surf Board
June 2026
During this event you will explore surfboard engineering through eco-design and hydrodynamics.
You will study how materials and shape influence the performance and environmental impact of surfboards, using for sustainable material selection.
The course also focuses on the hydrodynamic role of surfboard fins, explaining why they are essential and how different geometries affect stability, control, and maneuverability.
Through hands-on challenges, interactive workshops, (and group projects), and real-world case studies, you will design an eco-responsible fin system adapted to Atlantic wave conditions.
But this event is more than just a technical challenge ! It’s a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded students from across Europe, engage with industry experts, and experience the vibrant culture of Bordeaux. Over the weekend, you will also have the chance to explore the beauty of the Arcachon Bay and immerse yourself in the rich heritage of the city of Bordeaux
